What are cookies?
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are and how we use them on openmedical.cz, the types of cookies we use, what information they collect, how that information is used, and how you can manage your cookie settings.
Cookies are small text files that store small pieces of information. They are placed on your device when you load a website in your browser. Cookies help websites function properly, improve security, provide a better user experience, and help us understand how our website performs so we can analyse what works and where we need to improve.
In this policy, the term "cookies" also covers similar technologies such as local storage, pixels, and tags, where these are used for the same purposes.
How we use cookies
Like most online services, our website uses both first-party and third-party cookies for several purposes.
First-party cookies are set by openmedical.cz and are mostly necessary for the website to function correctly. They do not collect personally identifiable information for marketing purposes.
Third-party cookies are set by services we integrate into our website. They are mainly used to help us understand how our website performs, how you interact with it, to keep our services secure, to deliver relevant advertising, and to improve your overall experience.
Legal basis
We use cookies on the following legal bases:
- We place strictly necessary cookies without your consent because they are required to provide the service you have explicitly requested, namely the display and functioning of the website. This category is exempt from the consent requirement under Section 89(3) of Act No. 127/2005 Coll., on Electronic Communications.
- Analytical and marketing cookies are placed only with your prior consent, given through our cookie banner, in line with Section 89 of Act No. 127/2005 Coll., on Electronic Communications, and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Google Tag Manager is used as the tag-management mechanism for GA4, Google Ads, and future GTM-managed tags, and those tags run only after the relevant analytics or marketing category is granted.
- You can grant or refuse consent for each optional category independently, and you can change your choice at any time (see "Managing your cookie settings" below). Refusing optional cookies will not prevent you from using the website.
Types of cookies we use
This registry covers the cookies currently declared for the public website. Optional integrations remain inactive until you grant consent for the relevant category. You can change your choices at any time using the "Cookie settings" button.

Transfers of cookie data outside the EEA
Some third parties whose cookies we use with your consent, in particular Google LLC for GTM-managed Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads, process data in the United States. These transfers take place under Google’s certification to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
If you do not consent to analytical or marketing cookies, no such transfer takes place.

Managing your cookie settings
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time:
- Through our cookie banner. Use the "Cookie settings" link available in the footer of openmedical.cz to reopen the consent panel and change your preferences.
- Through your browser. Most browsers allow you to view, manage, and delete cookies, and to block cookies from specific or all websites. Browser-level controls also allow you to clear cookies that have already been stored. Instructions are available in your browser’s help section (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, and others).
- Through opt-out tools offered by some third-party providers (e.g. analytics or advertising networks).
Please note that blocking necessary cookies may affect the functionality of the website.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. Once consent is withdrawn, we will stop placing the relevant cookies; cookies already stored on your device can be deleted via your browser.
